What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup is also known as cosmetic tattooing, micropigmentation & intradermal cosmetics. It is the art of implanting colored pigment below the surface of the skin, to enhance your natural features with soft color.
How is permanent makeup performed?
Different techniques may be used to apply permanent makeup. There are manual or machine methods. A needle configuration is used to implant colored pigment below the surface of the skin. The Leopard Lily is proud to use the manual method. The manual method is a completely disposable system, and the safest system available. The results are beautiful, soft looking permanent makeup.
Is it painful?
Some clients have a little more sensitivity then others. A topical anesthesia is applied to the procedure area before and during the procedure. The topical is very effective and most clients are comfortable during the procedure.
How long does it take?
The time may vary on each procedure and client. It may take one or two hours per procedure. It is very important to schedule your appointment on a day when you are not rushed. This will insure you a more relaxed procedure.
What can I expect after the procedure?
You may have some slight swelling after the procedure. You may apply ice. The color will appear much darker for the first few days. You may resume your normal activities the next day. The procedure area will slough in about four days and then the color may appear too light. You may use regular cosmetics at this time until your scheduled retouch. This requires patience. You may receive your retouch in four to six weeks.
How long does it last?
Permanent make up is permanent, however it will fade over the years. Lighter colors may fade sooner. A color refresh session is recommended every one to five years to keep your permanent makeup looking beautiful.
Is this a safe and sanitary procedure?
Yes. This procedure is very safe and sanitary. Needles are used once and then disposed of. Gloves are worn during the entire procedure. Sanitation methods meet the highest standards as required by the C.D.C.
